What is it with people and trains? Today I saw someone walking down the tracks behind a train that was stopped and thought nothing of it other than he shouldn't be there. So I get back into town a few minutes later and the train that was stopped comes by and wouldn't you know it, they had an extra passenger. That idiot was hanging on to the last car of the train and with the MOW work going on there was plenty of people to see this person. So they had to have the train stop to yell at him if he was still hanging on or to let the crew know it was safe to proceed. I only wish I would have gotten a picture of that.
Also I just come across another case of a car vs train here at this
[link] Its so sad that people are in such a hurry that they are willing to risk there lives to beat a train especially when its a short train. This train was the Wolverine 353 out of Detroit and headed to Chicago. So in a way it hits close to home since that train comes through my neck of the woods on a daily basis. I just know that eventually I'm going to be a witness to a train vs car event and just the thought of that makes me squirm.

I think if they were fooling around on the tracks they shouldn't have a lawsuit against anybody.
When a pedestrian gets hit on the interstate it's not the motorist's fault because pedestrians on the interstate is illegal. It should be the same way for people walking on the tracks or fooling around with the railroad.
